Happy to say that we have both received our vaccine shots for COVID-19. First shot three weeks ago, the second dose was this afternoon 15th May. We are fortunate that here in Hong Kong it was easy, quick and simple to book online and get our two vaccine shots lined up. We got the Pfizer/Biontech vaccine. The other vaccine available here in Hong Kong is the Sinovac vaccine.
The Pfizer/Biontech vaccine we have chosen seems to be a good one and with our upcoming international travel it is important for us to have good protection and one that will be internationally recognised.
Did we have some hesitancy and doubts about it? Yes, a little. Being in Hong Kong we are very lucky as at the moment the number of infections here are relatively low. I can understand why some people here might feel they don’t need to get the vaccine. For us, we are going to be travelling soon. We will be meeting people, and moving around a lot. I think it’s important that we can be safe ourselves and also that we do all that we can to ensure that the people we meet are safe as well. I don’t want to go around infecting people!
Is it safe?
Is the vaccine safe? Another, and more important question would be :
“Is the vaccine safer than getting COVID-19?”
Wifey and I have both been vaccinated. We received our second shot today, So that is OUR answer to the question.
What is YOUR answer?
For the safe of your own health, the health of your loved ones, the people you are close to and all the people you meet and pass by each day I hope you will make the right choice.
